IPL 2024: SRH Vs PBKS

Sunrisers Hyderabad wins by 2 runs against Punjab Kings

Nitish Reddy’s maiden IPL half-century helped Sunrisers Hyderabad recover from a dismal start to their innings, scoring 182 for the loss of nine wickets. Reddy scored 64 off 37 balls, and SRH recovered from being 40/3 at the end of the powerplay. In response, Punjab Kings performed even worse in the powerplay, losing three wickets for 27 runs. Sam Curran and Sikandar Raza’s innings boosted their run rate marginally, but PBKS were once again reliant on Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma to bail them out of a difficult situation.

The pair almost did it again for PBKS, ending undefeated on 66 from 27 balls. Ashutosh got Punjab to within two runs in a chaotic last over in which Jaydev Unadkat bowled three wides and Ashutosh was dropped three times, two of which were palmed over the boundary for sixes. Ashutosh went undefeated with 33 off 15, while Shashank finished with 46 off 25 as the non-striker.
