Rohit Bal to showcase collection inspired by Kashmir at the Lakme Fashion Week 2019

The ace celebrity stylist Rohit Bal is all set to showcase his collection which is completely inspired by Kashmir at the Lakme Fashion Week 2019. He has named the collection as “Guldastah.”

His collection will include outfits which have the prints of beautiful flowers of the valley of Kashmir. The collection has been created by the rural woman of Usha Silai Kashmir under the mentorship of Rohit Bal. The collection includes embroidery, zardozi, gold wire and many more ways to recreate the beauty of the flowers found in Kashmir valley.

In an exclusive interview, the designer said, “I feel a sense of great pride working with these women of Kashmir and putting a whole collection together. They were trained by the Usha Silai team and have worked relentlessly in the freezing winter of Kashmir and created a collection which will be showcased at the Lakme Fashion Week. This is an incredible venture put forth by Usha Silai and being a Kashmiri myself, I feel very emotional about this project. It’s very close to my heart and I wish everyone all the best and I hope that this small spark can kindle some warmth in the hearts of all that are involved and more.”

The outfits are made up of organic fabrics, cotton silk blends, chanderi, silk organza, velvets and silks.

The Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2019, is scheduled to take place from 30th January to 3rd February 2019 at the Jio Garden, BKC.
