Anita Dongre’s new collection is beyond gorgeous!
Anita Dongre’s brand of bridal couture often draws connections to the designer’s past. The designer has come up with the latest collection titled ‘Jaipur Love.’ This collection is based on her memories of Jaipur city.
In this collection, Dongre has even included occasion wear for kids—think lehengas and sherwanis in addition to giving the bride and the groom their twinning moments. The collection has outfits made of Velvet, Abudai silk and Benarasi silk. She explained, “Brides and grooms can also choose from a range of tunics, saris, lehengas, bandis and jackets for formal occasions.”
Anita Dongre is widely known for supporting the heritage crafts and this collection has made use of a lot of bandhani and embroidery that includes zari, zardozi, katdanna work and gota patti. She goes on to say that her personal favourite outfit from the collection is a violet colour lehenga made of silk and features embroidery, floral motifs, zardozi work and gota patti.
Each outfit has been meticulously handcrafted, with one lehenga taking anywhere between 760 to 1,200 hours to craft.
