Can tongue tapping help reduce stress and anxiety instantly?

Tongue tapping is a technique based on energy psychology approaches such as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). It entails touching various areas in the mouth with the tongue to increase energy flow and maybe relieve tension and anxiety. While tongue tapping has been reported to help relieve tension and anxiety, its efficacy varies from person to person.



The concept underlying such treatments is acupressure or meridian tapping, which proposes that stimulating certain areas on the body can induce relaxation and ease mental discomfort. However, empirical evidence for the usefulness of tongue tapping is lacking.
