Watch: Bumrah’s Close Calls – Intense Bouncer Misses India Batter’s Head, Smashing Yorker Knocks Another Off Feet

After undergoing months of rehabilitation at the NCA, Jasprit Bumrah is back to bowling at full throttle.

Following their loss in the five-match T20I series against West Indies on Sunday, India’s attention now shifts to Ireland. They will engage in a three-match T20 series, commencing on Friday, August 18. While the series might seem relatively inconsequential in light of the ongoing ODI World Cup year, Team India aims to regain their winning momentum.

This series also marks the eagerly awaited return of India’s ace pacer, Jasprit Bumrah. He had been sidelined since September last year due to a back injury, causing him to miss both the T20 World Cup and IPL. Bumrah has made a comeback after successfully recovering from surgery for his back issue.

After an extensive period spent at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for rehabilitation, Bumrah has now resumed bowling at full throttle, as evidenced by a video shared by BCCI on social media.

In the 14-second clip, Bumrah surprises a batter with a rapid bouncer and a yorker that rattles the stumps, showcasing positive signs for India as the World Cup draws near.

This series also offers an opportunity to assess Bumrah’s match fitness as he returns from a prolonged injury hiatus.

Bumrah’s comeback will see him leading a youthful Indian squad against Ireland.

The series is scheduled to kick off on August 18, with all three matches set to take place at The Village in Dublin.

Under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, the Indian team faced defeat against West Indies in the five-match series, resulting in a 2-3 loss.
