Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play the lead role in an Indo-American project?

Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai is one of the most beautiful and gorgeous actresses in the Indian Film Industry. Her fans have been waiting for a long time now to watch her back on the big screen as she has been away from the glamour industry for a long time now. She was last seen in Fanney Khan, which was released in 2018. There is good news for her fans as reportedly, Aishwarya has signed her new international project. Earlier, Rai had starred in various international projects such as Bride and Prejudice (2004). According to reports, Aishwarya’s upcoming project will be Indo-American and will be based on Rabindranath Tagore’s book Three Women. Isheeta Ganguly, a theatre writer and fusion singer, will be making her directorial debut with the movie and she is also adapting her own successful music theatre into the film.

Ganguly, while confirming the news, told a leading news website, “Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be playing the main protagonist in the film. While the play was called Three Women, we are changing the name and have titled our film The Letter as the film is based around the letter of Kadambari Devi who was Tagore’s sister-in-law. I am really glad that Aishwarya loved the script and agreed to be a part of my directorial debut.”

She further added, “While the musical theatre that I directed was crafted on the evolution of two protagonists from Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s novels — Bimala and Charu. Their lives are seen through the 21st-century eyes of Kadambari Devi, who was a ghost-like a Sex and the City-esque character. For the film, I have adapted the story into the modern-day context and made it into a mother-daughter story.”

Isheeta Ganguly also informed that she wanted the movie to be made in Hindi but it was Aishwarya Rai, on whose conviction, she decided to make it an Indo-American movie.
