Russian skier passed away one wounded in Gulmarg avalanche

After an avalanche hit the Gulmarg ski resort, at least six people were saved, including a local guide. An avalanche slammed the ski slopes of Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, killing one Russian skier and injuring another, according to officials. At least six people were rescued, including a local guide. Around 2 p.m., an avalanche slammed the Khilan Marg on Afarwat Peak near the Army Ridge, burying many skiers beneath its wreckage, according to authorities. Gulmarg received more than six feet of snow in the last three weeks, following weeks of drought.
