On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, which spans 21.8 kilometers from Sewri in Mumbai to Nhava Sheva in Raigad district.
The trans-harbour connection, also known as the Atal Setu, is India’s longest sea bridge and would cut travel time from an hour and a half to roughly 20 minutes.
The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu costs around ₹17,840 crore. It is India’s longest bridge, as well as its longest sea bridge.
The Mumbai Police have set a maximum speed limit of 100 km\h for four-wheelers crossing the bridge. Motorcycles, auto rickshaws, and tractors will not be permitted to operate on it.
