{"id":10673,"date":"2022-07-24T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-07-24T03:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zaanews.in\/?p=10673"},"modified":"2022-07-23T11:43:00","modified_gmt":"2022-07-23T06:13:00","slug":"taapsee-pannu-anurag-kashyaps-dobaaraa-to-open-the-indian-film-festival-of-melbourne","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zaanews.in\/index.php\/2022\/07\/24\/taapsee-pannu-anurag-kashyaps-dobaaraa-to-open-the-indian-film-festival-of-melbourne\/","title":{"rendered":"Taapsee Pannu-Anurag Kashyap\u2019s Dobaaraa to open the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.indianexpress.com\/2022\/07\/dobaaraa-taapsee-pavail-1200.jpg\" alt=\"taapsee pannu dobaaraa pavail guati\" width=\"459\" height=\"254\"\/><figcaption>Taapsee Pannu &#8211; Zaa News<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap\u2019s directorial venture&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/entertainment\/bollywood\/taapsee-pannu-on-her-dobaaraa-series-with-anurag-kashyap-and-sunir-kheterpal-see-photos-7200644\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Dobaaraa<\/strong><\/a>, starring Taapsee Pannu in the lead, will open the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) on August 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penned by Nihit Bhave, the mystery drama is the Hindi remake of the 2018 Spanish movie Mirage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kashyap and Pannu would be attending the festival scheduled to be held in the Victorian capital from August 12-20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The director said he is excited to showcase his film at the gala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI have previously been to IFFM and have first-hand seen the unison with which Indian films and film from the subcontinent are celebrated and showcased with much vigour. \u2018Dobaaraa\u2019 is a special film for me as a filmmaker and I\u2019m looking forward to showcasing it on this platform,\u201d Kashyap said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IFFM festival director, Mitu Bhowmik Lange said they are happy to showcase some of the finest talents of Indian cinema through Dobaaraa at the festival and hope that the audience warms up to the movie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAt IFFM, we aim at providing a common platform for filmmakers from across the globe to showcase their talent and put forth the excellence of cinema from all over. The opening film of our main event is Anurag Kashyap\u2019s \u2018Dobaaraa\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBeing a fan of his work since silk route, I always look forward to his films, and this one was highly anticipated by me because of Taapsee as well, as I admire her work equally,\u201d Lange said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dobaaraa is jointly produced by Ektaa Kapoor\u2019s Cult Movies, a new division under Balaji Telefilms, and Sunir Kheterpal and Gaurav Bose\u2019s banner Athena.
