Here, Bobby plays the role of the\ndean of a police academy. The story is set in the 1980s, when the crime rate in\nBombay (now Mumbai) was quite high. Adapted from Hussain Zaidi\u2019s Class of 83:\nThe Punishers of Mumbai Police, the film also stars Annup Sonii, Vishwajeet\nPradhan and Joy Sengupta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bobby plays Dean Vijay Singh who decides to\nput together a secret squad of officers (Red Chillies Entertainment introduces\nfive newcomers \u2013 Bhupendra Jadawat, Ninad Mahajani, Hitesh Bhojraj, Sameer\nParanjape and Prithvik Pratap) who will have the freedom to conduct encounters\nof criminals and gangsters without any restrictions. His mission is to kill\nfive members of a crime ring who are extremely dangerous to Bombay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The trailer says the story is \u201cinspired\nby the true story of the officers of the law.\u201d The voice-over in the trailer\nsays that to sometimes maintain order, one has to sacrifice the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bobby\u2019s character here is also struggling\nto come to terms with his past, which gives him a brooding backstory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While we have seen similar stories in Bollywood before, the treatment of this Red Chillies Entertainment film seems slick. From the trailer, it seems like the film is trying to justify police brutality where the officers of the law are also the decision-makers who can execute anyone they believe has committed a crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure><iframe allowfullscreen=\"true\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/embed\/index.html?creatorScreenName=indianexpress&amp;dnt=false&amp;embedId=twitter-widget-0&amp;frame=false&amp;hideCard=false&amp;hideThread=false&amp;id=1291613965353533441&amp;lang=en&amp;origin=https%3A%2F%2Findianexpress.com%2Farticle%2Fentertainment%2Fbollywood%2Fclass-of-83-trailer-bobby-deol-netflix-6543713%2F&amp;siteScreenName=The%20Indian%20Express&amp;theme=light&amp;widgetsVersion=223fc1c4%3A1596143124634&amp;width=550px\"><\/iframe><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Shah Rukh Khan, who is also the producer of\nthe film, shared the trailer on Twitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Director Atul Sabharwal said in a\nstatement, \u201cThis project was extremely interesting and the whole crew helped\nbring the era of the 80s to life, which was a big challenge.
